The Public Library for Union County on Friday held a Volunteer Recognition event to thank and honor its volunteers.
Keith Phelps of Country Farm & Home presented a program on nighttime gardening. He put together a beautiful container garden which included snapdragons, baby wing begonias, a dusty miller, annual dianthus, helio white marguerite daisies, supertunias, a snow crystals alyssum, and ornamental curry. Voluteer Scott Basom won the arrangement at the conclusion of the event.
Also during the event, four volunteers were presented with the Presidential Award for Volunteerism. They were Lori Bullard, silver award; Patrice Dupuis, silver award; Sally Kobus, gold award; and Barbara Baylor, gold award. The Presidental Award for Volunteerism recognizes the efforts of volunteers in community organizations around the country.
