  • The Public Library for Union County, headquarters for the three-member federated Union County Library System, offers access to a wide range of materials, programs, and services. Located at 255 Reitz Boulevard in the Brookpark Farm development just west of Lewisburg, the library is regularly open from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Due to state funding reductions, in 2011 the library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and will not be open on Sundays. The telephone number is (570) 523-1172.

  • The library’s materials collection currently includes more than 100,000 books and over 5,000 audio-visual items such as books on tape and CD, music CDs, videotapes, and DVDs as well as downloadable audiobooks and eBooks.   The non-circulating reference collection features a variety of valuable resources, including a “Pennsylvania Collection” of many major genealogical and Pennsylvania history texts.

  • TumbleBooks Library (For ages 1 through elementary school) is an amazing collection of 300 animated talking picture books and 40 chapter books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they’ll love. TumbleBooks are created by taking existing books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic book which you can read, or have read to you.
